For years we have been thinking to start en new adventure and move to Spain, preferably the region of Andalucía. A big step, one you don’t decide on overnight but more then once has been put aside because of other more important matters, personal, work etc.September 2006 however was the moment we dediced to start our dream of emigrating to spain. In the meanwhile, 2 years have past and we did make the big move. After looking for over a year we signed on our house on 5 May 2008. Since then we are proud owners of a house in Arenas, a small town 45’ away from the airport of Málaga.
In June that year we said goodbye to our home in the Netherlands and left for our new life in Spain. We are currently working hard to renovate the house and would like to start our own B&B later this year. Because of that we haven’t had many opportunities to go and discover the area or to practice our Spanish yet.
We decided to focus on our priorities first and we will catch up with the ‘damages’ after everything is finished. At this point we are experiencing just a small part of the Spanish life but have no regrets at all.
We do miss the family and friends but can keep our heads cool looking forward to future planned visits.
